A new parents bedroom, ensuite and yoga space for an existing cottage in North Perth allows for a reshuffle of existing rooms and their uses which will future proof the home for both parents and their daughter. On a site with little free area the new addition is located behind the existing 4 room cottage and above an existing living area addition completed in 2014.
The external materials are selected for minimal ongoing maintenance yet textural and keeping with its context. The interior is designed to maximize views toward Hyde Park, the privacy fins increase line of sight while providing for privacy requirements.
Curtains are used to delineate spaces and provide screening to the bedroom area so guests can enjoy the balcony and views.
The highlight window opens up a view to the sky.
