NORTH PERTH _ Vertical infill

Located on a constrained site in North Perth, this project is a surgical addition to a traditional 1920's four-room cottage. By building upward directly above a 2014 ground-floor living area extension the design preserves precious outdoor space while significantly expanding the home’s functionality and limiting structural demolition work.

A sense of space, light and volume that exceeded the actual floor space that we had available, We also needed the extension to take advantage of the views from the second story, but provide us with privacy from our neighbors. I also wanted to be able to see the sky when in bed!"

"The space is simply divine - it is calming, so very very open, absolutely maximises all our views, enables the sky to feel bigger and all around us in the space. The room provides us with privacy, but does not create a sense of separation throughout the house. It also doesn’t feel “added on” like an afterthought, it very much feels like a part of our home and one we honestly can’t imagine not having it."
